Four individuals have been inducted into our Honorary Lifetime Legacy Membership—the highest honor within our organization.
Their dedication and significant contributions have made a lasting impact on our mission, and we are proud to recognize and celebrate their legacy below.

David D. Little
Mr. Little, a seasoned professional with more than thirty-five years of experience in the long-term care and senior housing industry, founded Progressive Management Group, Inc. in 2001. He is a founding member of the South Carolina Assisted Living Association, where he served as president and played a pivotal role in its establishment. Mr. Little holds a license as a skilled nursing home administrator and a community residential care administrator. Throughout his career, he has actively participated in state associations, assumed various board positions, including president, and was involved in committee assignments focused on reimbursement, regulations, and government affairs. His contributions have earned him two Crystal Awards for excellence from the South Carolina Assisted Living Association and the President’s Award from the South Carolina Healthcare Association. Currently residing in Landrum, SC, Mr. Little is a proud graduate of Clemson University.

Melissa T. Yetter
Melissa Yetter, with more than 35 years of experience in the Long-Term Care Administration industry, is the CEO of Healthcare Experts and Consultants. Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Director for Lutheran Homes of SC for over two decades, where she dedicated herself to meeting the needs of residents and mentoring staff. Melissa holds a degree from Duke University and is a dual-licensed CRCFA and NHA administrator. Her leadership and expertise have earned her respect in the industry. For many years, she served as president of the South Carolina Assisted Living Association and has been a consultant and advisor to the CEO and board. Additionally, Melissa founded The Service Dog Institute, a non-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of individuals with unique or special needs by providing trained service dogs that enhance confidence, improve self-sufficiency, offer companionship and comfort, and perform skilled tasks, enabling partners to lead more independent lives.

Rita Stanley Lark
Rita Stanley Lark, a former President of SCALA, has a rich history in the assisted living industry. She served as the Executive Director of Bailey Manor in Clinton, South Carolina, for many years. Currently, she holds the position of Executive Director at Barclay at Little River. With more than 30 years of experience in assisted living, Rita’s passion for serving seniors began during her career as an Activity Director.
Rita is a long-time member of the South Carolina Activity Professionals Association (SCAPA), where she has shared her creative ideas at various SCAPA conferences. For years, she served on the SCAPA board, actively contributing to the association’s growth and development.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Rita remains deeply involved in her community. She has served on the Board of Directors for SCALA in various capacities and has been a dedicated member for many years. Additionally, she has been a presenter and educator for our members at various events and conferences. Rita’s commitment to the association is evident in her consistent volunteering for conferences and events.
Currently residing in Little River with her husband and son, Rita continues to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors and the community at large.

Rick Sellars
Rick Sellars, with more than 30 years of experience as an administrator of senior care centers, has significantly contributed to the success of the senior care industry. For the past six years, Mr. Sellars has been a Director at Large on the SCALA Board, where he also served as Treasurer. His leadership extends to the legislative and governmental affairs committee of the association, where he has testified before the legislature on behalf of the industry and the association. Before retiring in December 2025, Mr. Sellars’s commitment to the healthcare community has left an indelible mark on the industry. He served as Assistant Vice President of Assisted Living and Independent Living Operations for NHC Healthcare. His expertise and dedication have earned him the prestigious title of Administrator of the Year. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Sellars has actively participated in the healthcare industry, serving on the national board of the American College of Healthcare Administrators and the state board of the South Carolina Healthcare Association. Notably, he served as Chairman of the Board for three years.
