Meet Loretta
Woodward Veney
Loretta’s own caregiving journey began in 2006, when her mother Doris was diagnosed with dementia. What she learned along that sixteen-year path became the foundation for her speaking career and two books, Being My Mom’s Mom and Refreshment for the Caregiver’s Spirit. After retiring from a forty-year security management career in 2021, Loretta now devotes herself full time to inspiring caregivers around the country.
She has delivered more than 300 presentations and keynotes on caregiving, dementia, and building resilience — and audiences consistently describe her as energetic, knowledgeable, and one of the best speakers they’ve heard.

Registration fees cover daily breakfast, breaks, and lunch on Wednesday and Thursday. Register online or submit the PDF form — fees are the same either way.

Policies
Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand plans change. Because SCALA must finalize guarantees and venue contracts well in advance, we adhere to the following refund schedule. Our deadlines are firm — they align with binding commitments to the hotel once final headcounts are submitted.

| On or before June 30 (5:00 PM) | Full refund minus a $75 processing fee |
| July 1 – August 14 | 50% refund of registration fee |
| After August 14 | No refund or credit issued |
Substitutions
If you cannot attend, you may send a colleague in your place at no additional cost. Notify SCALA in writing prior to the event to update the registration.
Forfeiture
Cancellation fees and non-refundable balances cannot be applied as credit toward future events.
Event Changes
If SCALA must cancel or postpone due to health emergencies, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, attendees will receive credit for a future event.
